El lanzamiento más original en el dominio del metal se titula 'We wish you a metal Xmas and a headbanging new year'.
Esta compilación, publicada esta semana, reúne villancicos interpretados por grandes nombres del 'hard' (Lemmy, Alice Cooper, Tony Iommi de Black Sabbath...). Entre sus títulos figura una versión 'trash' metal de 'Noche de paz', capaz de hacer dar saltos a todas las figuritas del belén.

Hace unos días leíamos que Metallica actuarán en Madrid, el 13 de julio del 2009. Hoy sabemos también que Lamb of God y Mastodon les acompañarán en esta gira europea, además de MACHINE HEAD en otras fechas como en Suecia.

Muere un ex miembro de Marilyn Manson

Brad Stewart, ex-miembro del grupo de Marilyn Manson, ha sido encontrado muerto.
El bajista, que tocó con Manson entre 1989 y 1993, fue despedido y remplazado por Twiggy Ramirez.

Brad fue encontrado muerto en su casa de Los Angeles el 9 de Octubre, debido a una sobredosis de droga; tenía 39 años.

Nuevo CD/DVD de Linkin Park

La banda ha anunciado que se pondrá a la venta el 25 de Noviembre su nuevo trabajo “Road to Revolution“.
Se trata de un pack CD/DVD que captura un directo del 29 de Junio del 2008. El pack vendrá fabricado con materiales reciclables, con canciones extras y alguna que otra sorpresilla. También podremos escuchar a Jay-Z colaborando en algunas canciones.

Ringo Starr no quiere más correspondencia de fans

El ex-bateria de los Beatles, Ringo Starr, ha lanzado un comunicado a través de su sitio oficial, aclarando que a partir del 20 de octubre no contestará ni firmará ninguna correspondencia que le envíen sus admiradores.
En sus propias palabras, dice advertir con paz y amor que tiene mucho que hacer y que, debido a eso, desechará toda la correspondencia que venga fechada del 20 de octubre en adelante.
No es el tipo de comunicados que suele dar una figura de la música, pero nadie puede quejarse de su falta de honestidad.

Nuevo disco de Neil Young

El 25 de Noviembre se pone a la venta un nuevo disco de Neil Young llamado “Sugar Mountain“.
El disco captura canciones tocadas en directo por Young cuando el tenía 23 años recién cumplidos, concretamennte el 9 y 10 de Noviembre de 1968. Neil acababa de dejar la banda Buffalo Springfield 6 meses antes de realizar ese concierto.

«Loquillo, leyenda urbana»

El documental «Loquillo, leyenda urbana», que abrirá el próximo 23 de octubre la sexta edición del festival In-Edit Beefeater, ofrece una imagen del cantante barcelonés a través de músicos como Jaime Urrutia o Sabino Méndez, su mujer, su hijo o el periodista Jesús Ordovás.

La película de 110 minutos de duración muestra un retrato de Loquillo a través de sus declaraciones, de las de su familia, de sus amigos o de músicos que han colaborado con él en 30 años de carrera.
